Electricity Bills - Any Advice?

Hi all, can anybody advise? We've just received another electricity bill - another 300YTL for 5 weeks, we've been living here since June last year and our average bill for 5 weeks is 300YTL (2 bed apartment, usual aircon, TV's heater etc)....the bills are about the same as the summer with no aircon on, no heating just a water heater!.... we've been told our bills are far to high.

I checked the meter and it was spinning like a dervish ! I gave it a good whack and it's slowed right down to a crawl!

My dilema?

Do I go to Tedas, complain about a faulty meter and try for a refund? or keep quiet and wait for the next bill and see if giving it a good smack has sorted the problem?

Any advice?

Cheers

We only had a small heater on (occasionally), and water heater daily! Tried to keep the usage to a minimum!

Jez we had a similar problem, having astronomical bills last year and we don't have any air con or electric heaters. We complained to tedas and they came out and agreed our meter was dodgy and replaced it. When we asked about getting a refund or credit no-body seemed to be able to give us an answer and to be honest we just gave up, had other things on our plates at the time. I usually don't mind putting up a fight when i know i'm in the right but even i couldn't be bothered with it! Good luck!

Our friend had it the other way their metrer was`nt working so nearly free electric Tedas changed meter and did`nt make them pay for the months that they had free electric
so your chance of getting a refund
Someone else had trouble big bills for ages kept getting tedas to come and look at meter said it was ok,so we went around there turned everything off and meter was still moving so Tedas came and replaced meter no refund.
