Re: television and vidio
Yes we brought a video/dvd and television into Turkey but they are only compatible with each other your video/dvd wouldn't work with a turkish tv. You do have to pay tax on electrical goods coming into the country but not sure how much it is, but I'm sure somebody could tell you on the forum as a lot of people have brought their stuff over.

Re: television and vidio
We brought DVD and video players out and they work fine with Turkish TVs. At the time DVDs were much cheaper in the UK, now there as cheap here as they are in the UK so not worth it. On the other hand if you want Video (VHS) then you'll want to bring it with you, as video never took off here and are next to impossible to find.

Re: television and vidio
Yes I too brought a DVD player from the UK in a suitcase and it works fine with my Turkish branded TV.

Re: television and vidio
I brought a 19" flat screen tv and a DVD player in my case, encased in bubble wrap and T shirts. If you just have an ordinary case you are unlikely to be stopped by customs. I use a UK extension lead plugged into a Turkish plug with an adapter - my husband (Turkish) insists that this is the best option but not too sure why! Will be taking a 15" TV in the same way next month.

Re: television and video
Hi Yildez - what exactly do you mean by an ordinary case? A soft side one, hard one, or what?
