you need to tell a little bit more
have you got your habitation certificate firstly
if so then you have 3 different rates of electricity t1 t2 t3
but if you havnt got your habitation certificate then you are still on what is known as developers rates which can be very costly

this is different rates in different regions and towns and is set by local councils i am informed
when you get your hab cert then you can register the property in your name at the tedas and you will pay a bill which is seperated into 3 different time bands and charged at 3 different rates
similar to how economy 7 was worked out in the uk i am not certain but i think
10pm-8am this being the cheapest and best time to use the washer
8am-4pm
4pm-8pm
if this is wrong i am sure i will be corrected immediately

we are still on developers rates as our hab cert has not been applied for yet.

Re: what rate ?

You are only on variable rate if you have a new meter that can differentiate, otherwise it is a set rate. I thought the set rate was around 0.13 or 0.14ytl, but nor sure.

Question Re: what rate ?

We have recently moved into our new apartment in Bogazici village in the Tuzla area. The site is still under construction so utilities are managed by the construction company TUNA.
They charge a kwh rate of 0.25 which I consider high but we don't pay a separate standing-charge. I'm assuming that if (or when) we aver get to be supplied direct from the energy supplier then there will be a standing charge of some kind. For low annual usage the standing charge could be more significant than the kwh rate. Does anyone know the typical monthly standing charge.

Re: what rate ?

Even if you have a brand new digital meter you can choose to go on the standard tariff which a lot of people do when they live here full time. Electricity prices went up this year by around 15% so the standard tariff is about 0.17ytl per unit. I find that as I use a lot of electricity during the day for pool pumps, water pump, garden pump etc it works out better for me.

Correction; I now have a detailed bill and its worse than I thought, Tuna are charging 0.5 ytl per kwh.

Birim Fiyat (Unit Price) is the rate.
