Have an Account, it even has money in it :-)
But people atthe Tedas and at the Bank jsut looked at me blankly when I tried to sort this out.
Never been asked for council tax ?
Will they contact me or is it possible that this covered by the site.
We have joint bins colection ?

Re: Bills by DD
I am with Garanti Bank who are able to set up direct debits but you need to be careful as they automatically expire after 12 months and need to be renewed. A better option may be to use internet banking - again I use Garanti Bank and it has been fine. That way you have more control and can transfer the money on the day you want. It operates in English and Turkish. I think Garanti bank may have the facility to set up direct debits on line. I am told that other major Turkish banks have the same facilities.

Re: Bills by DD
Jeff, I am with Garanti too, but my DDs do not expire after a year, they just roll on.
If ukdaasfan does not have Internet Banking he will have to do it over the phone. If they don't speak English he has a problem. Most banks seem to have an English option on phone calls. Perhaps a change of bank is needed.

I am with Deniz Bank and have a DD set up for electricty with Tedas. But you may find you cannot do the council tax. I have a place in Alanya I can do the electric DD but not water. Depends on the company providing the service if banks have an agreement with them.

Re: Bills by DD
I managed to set up internet banking with Isbank but gave up on it because of all the rigmarole over changing passwords. Garanti gets very good reports on the forum so might be best to open an account with them.
