Having recently got all my paperwork together with the help of the good folks on here I went to the Tedas with my Tapu and Hab cert to get off the builders rate (santiye mesken). I had paid 380ytl to have the elec put in my name in Dec. After telling me that all was OK now and I was on the domestic rate they said I had no money to come back. A quick call from a Turkish friend resulted in my being given 150ytl back, but............. 75ytl costs of changing it, my recent bill of 52ytl scrubbed and 30ytl in my hand!!!!!!! Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

I think to charge 75ytl to put me on domestic rate is wrong having been charged once to change it into my name and purchase my elec meter.
