I have copied this post I made from an old thread in the forum...

Cant guarantee that these prices are correct for your area but are valid for Kusadasi and shouldnt vary that much.

Moreover the thresholds are correct for the whole of Turkey.

Electricity 7am - 5pm kw/h 0.14YTL
Electricity 5pm - 10pm kw/h 0.22YTL
Electricity 10pm - 7am kw/h 0.08YTL

As you can see, the price falls significantly after 10:00pm

I have seen these prices stated in the Fethiye region, so may be the same for all regions

How do they know when you take your meter reading? My meter only has one reading so therefore, how do they know what you have used at what times?

Lolly, this is the rates for the new digital meters all new properties have this fitted and many older properties the owners have opted to have them fitted,

with the digital meters there is a button and when this is pressed it shows 4 readings, this is usually (much like the UK meters) rates T1 T2 T3 and T4 this one gives the total of all usits used, when the meter reader comes to the property he inputs the meter number and the readings this then gives the bill and sorts all the readings into the correct categories.

Thanks for that. Mine was a new property last year, although you know how many years these all take to complete. Also is on a complex, so perhaps we will have to keep what we have. I will look into it when i go in a few weeks to see if this can be changed. Can you imagine trying to explain that one in the Tedas Building...hehehe.....although Kusadasi office does speak quite good English if you get the correct person!I do like saving a litle bit of dosh with the washing machine.

I live in Alanya and am told there is only one price for electric, so reading this short post ,,, does it mean that if i opt for a digital meter i will be able to get cheaper electric????
And if you have one of those old spinning meters you do just get one fixed price??

Prices are at a fixed price per KWh on ordinary meter by have a digital meter you get the 3 rates as below.

great in the summer when everyone is out and dont need to use the aircon etc.. and for night time the lower rate kicks in

the fix rate is somewhere between 7am and 10pm cost if you look at your bill you will see how much you are being charged per KWh.
