Re: Copy of Digital Elec. meter bill..
Hi Lorraine, thanks for that most helpful. I know i'm being cheeky, but is there any chance of you doing the same for water bills and the price per cubic metre (or per unit) ?

Re: Copy of Digital Elec. meter bill..
You do pay a fine if you're late with an electric bill, its 8 ytl per month. I know this as I've just discovered one for last winter that I didnt know existed! Where I live, sometimes they read the meter every 2 months, sometimes 4 months and once I waited 6!! I was up and down to Tedas asking for the latter, but they seemed unconcerned as they said they didnt have enough meter readers to go round!!

The charge for water in Altinkum is 1.65 ytl per unit, but you cannot yet put the water on direct debit, was informed by estate agent that the council is hoping to get water onto d/d for next year

Re: Copy of Digital Elec. meter bill..
Hi, Just got back from Side and had to replace my Electric Meter. Had the TEDAS man to do it cost me 120 Lira[66 Euros] which I had to pay him in cash even though I pay the electicity bill by direct debit. He came with one of my Emlaks cronies, does this smell of a scam????

We had ours replaced through our Emlak and that was around that price. Why was it replaced, have you just got your Tapu or something?

Re: Copy of Digital Elec. meter bill..
A friend's electric meter went beserk so we had to get it replaced for him - the meter cost 45 lira, but I think the tedas fitted it free. We also had to get a new meter when ours caught fire!! We paid 50 lira for ours and the tedas fitted it at no charge (well, haven't had a bill from them, yet). The meter reader came round a couple of weeks ago and read the new meter, but took the bill away with him, muttering something about "banki!. I could see the bill was for 150, which would be about right for the amount of electricity we consumed during that period. We are waiting to see what happens next!! It is very unlikely that they will cut us off, but if they do, we will go straight down and pay the bill and it will be reconnected, or we pay the man who comes to cut it off!! Life is so much simpler out here LOL

Re: Copy of Digital Elec. meter bill..
Hi Martyn, I've had my Tapu over a year now, and I was there when the meter reader came to read the meters in our block[of six] my meter was not reading anything and he explained it was kaput! The Tedas people also needed a photocopy of the date stamp in my passport to estimate the bill.
