Copy of electric bill and how to read a digital meter.





So many members asking re electric bills. I hope the above helps. if I have missed anything and I will put right.

Unlike the UK electricity bills are not posted, a reader comes to the property and a handheld machine spews out a printed bill, then it can be an easter egg hunt, in the post box wrapped around a door knocker between the door jam..etc...

On the above bill it runs from 23rd November 2005 to 20th January 2006 this is the norm time period, our water bill usually follows in the same manner a week or so later.

Electricity 7am - 5pm kw/h 0.14YTL
Electricity 5pm - 10pm kw/h 0.22YTL
Electricity 10pm - 7am kw/h 0.08YTL

exclusive of V.A.T (or Turkish KDV)

You can pay the bill anytime upto the last date shown, if you pay your bill automatically through the bank they will take the money on the last date.

Ray, yes this bill runs from 23Nov to 20Jan. during this period I do have a small oil filled rad in the bathroom on 24/7 very low. Although I have oil fired central heating the boiler needs power to run, and I have more lights than black pool! also I do not do my washing after 10pm which I should do. approx £35 permonth, and did have the aircon on for heat occasionally.

what happens if payments arnt met on time, i plan to pay all my bills when i go out later in year, prob better to set up direct debits for future if easy proccess?

They cut you off.
When you pay you're reconnected.
They don't charge any extra if you pay late or for reconnection( as far as I know).

I wasn't aware of the different costs for usage at different time's
Just had a terrible thought....How much is our Electricity & Water
bill going to be after our blocked drain escapade last year???? EEK!!
The amount of water & leccy we used at that time was frightening

When they bring the bills to our block thet dont post them in the post boxes provided for each apartment, they roll them all together and stuff then in the wroght iron frame in the main entrance, so you have to look for your own, that is of course someone else hasnt come along got theirs and chucked the rest on the floor, then the stairs get washed down and a load of soggy lecky bills found a monthe later. It was 8 months before i saw one of ours, the electric man came to cut us of, i explained we never had a bill, so he left us connected, went to his office abd came back with copies for us to see how much we owed, it was 360TL for the 8 months, which was alot less than oi thought, now i have auto payment from bank so it wont happen again.
