Question paying bills

hi,
read article last week that caused me some concern, bought apartment in altinkum 2 years ago, apartment hasnt been used a lot since, the estate agent we were dealing with payed our last utility bills and council tax bills for us last september, we stopped dealing with them since, not sure how often utiliy bills ar issued, but ive read if there not payed on time water and electric are cut off, when we go next we re going to set up all bill payment by direct debit, but that wont be till july and it would be awfull to get there and no power or water on, could anyone explain what will happen until bank is sorted for bill payments please,
thanks,
anthony.

Re: paying bills

Electricity bills are issued approx every 6 weeks. water bills in the winter less frequent.
Do you not have anyone you know living in the area who could check for you?
By sending money to them to pay the small electric bills and then when you come over pay a ;ump sum for your water upfront.
just a thought.

Re: paying bills

In Alanya you are not able to set up direct debits for water, not sure about your area, but that would be best option as Lorraine says about water payments,

If your not there and you are not renting out then your water bill will be Zero.

Most complexes have a house manager perhaps they could arrange payment for you if you TRUST them of course and have a CONTRACT drawn up to agrre a plan between you and him.

Re: paying bills

Anthony get someone to pay your bills because in from May onward they read your meter every two weeks?????? That happened last season I know but thats what happens. After October they dont read them till the folowing May....You can only DD for Electricity, Water and Council Tax you must pay at Town Hall however you can deposit suffiicient funds to pay the following year if you wish.
They will cut off your services believe me my neighbour had his cut off and he's a Turk who lives in Germany so be warned, Im sure someone would pop round your place and pick up the Electric Bill and pay it as it should be much unless you have left the Fridge switched on??? Good Luck

Hiya Anthony. If you get off the dolmus in Didim centre by the Mosque, with your back to the Mosque walk down the street opposite you and you will see a building in blue, you pay for your elec there. Then walk back up to the main rd with the Mosque, turn right and walk to the traffic lights, you will see a large building to your right, cross the road and go in there to pay your water and council tax bills. Re: paying bills

Hi there, just produce the bills and the money.
the place for electric in Didim is diagonally opposit sehir lokanta and its called TEDAS go in there and i go to the desk on the right .
the council building where you pay water has an information desk and the people there speak english but you pay water on the ground floor, go in turn right and walk down to the desks at the bottom.
