electricity and water
Hello
I am coming to Altinkum today. Can anybody tell me where I have to go to check whether I am registered for my electricity and water. I do not want to go back to my agents as I have had nothing but trouble from them.
Thank you
Carol

Re: electricity and water
We're the same, our emlak says that the water and electricity has been transferred over but we are still not sure. Our apartment maintenance company says he should be able to find out at the council offices.

Re: electricity and water
Well the person who is on the bills would be liable for the bills i should think and they would charge you.

Re: electricity and water
i'm just a bit worried because I read on an earlier thread that if the bill wasn't paid they would disconnect you?

Re: electricity and water
When we bought a resale a couple of years back the agent was useless and eventually my wife went to the offices for water /elec and got them transferred over to our name (I think there was a charge for this) As far as I am aware if there are any outstanding payments then you are liable for them. I also think (but not sure) that you need to have your Tapu before you can do this.

There does come a point when they will disconnect your water if bills have not been paid (not sure about elec.), it can be reconnected in a day or so but they will charge you a re connection fee and you must pay all outstanding monies.

Re: electricity and water
Hello Carol,
For the habitation certificate you have to go to the office of neighbourhood chief(headman). Each neighbourhood in the town has one. Some of neighbourhood names are: Efeler, Camlik, Mersindere, etc.
He will need your official adress of your property. Then with the certificate and copy of your passport u need to go to the Electricity Company ( Teda$) office which is very close to Sehir Lokantasi ( City Restaurant) in the town center.
By the way, all foreign property owners must declare their adress in the police center for registration. Anyway it's necessary for Tapu process.
Best Regards
Bora

Re: electricity and water
Hi again,
are we talking about "domicile certificate" which is many times needed in registration offices( elec, water, etc)?? Or are we talking about settling & inhabiting permission certificate which is given by municipality( Belediye)?? and needed for first registration of water, electricity etc connections?? Because they are totally different things.
Thanks
Bora
