_With reference to Maria and “lets end the tapu scams”_

I have done some investigating and Maria appears to be genuine. I have advised Mushtaq of my sources and conclusions before I progressed with this new thread.

To this end and based on the legal support and contacts she has at both government and media levels there could be benefits for many members if you can offer Maria factual support to further the campaign in trying to achieve some justice. Don’t ask who the contacts are as that information is unlikely to be divulged for good reason and will serve no useful purpose. You may not prefer to post directly on the forum due to various personal circumstances so there is the PM facility.

I would ask that all posts are kept within `topic` and request for the moderators to delete any that go off topic, start to `snipe` at other members or are generally of a non contributing nature. Post or PM your case with factual information but please try and refrain from commenting on other members posts. If you are using the PM facility it would be a good idea to post “ I have sent a PM to Maria” or something similar as this will give an indicator of the volume of information being passed over and may encourage others to join the campaign, it will also keep the thread live.

I feel it is imperative that this thread stays focussed on the important issue of gaining more justice for foreign purchasers. Nothing will happen overnight and it will be a long haul as it is going to take time to receive and collate information. Maria is not on here to offer any legal advice or other advice regarding house purchasing.

The objective of this thread is to gather as many individual cases of fraud/corruption/scams as is possible. *Your case is unique to you!* The fact that there maybe others on the same complex as you and they have already submitted information then that is their case, do not assume if a member living in the same complex as you has contributed then that covers everyone at that complex. If there are 30 complaints at a complex we want 30 individual cases, not one case to cover the 30 (I hope you know what I mean)

So please, start posting or sending PMs to Maria with any relevant and factual information.

I have copy / pasted Maria`s original post below.
“Let's end the Tapu Scams"

Hi everyone,

I've just joined this forum because I am campaigning on behalf of people who are victims of Tapu rip-offs. I am looking for people who are willing to tell their story to the British press and have their photo taken. I have been in touch with the British and Turkish Governments and am determined to get the laws in Turkey changed to bring this terrible state of affairs to an end.

For those of you who have lost money, property and maybe even your homes, please do feel free to post your experience. If you prefer to stay anonymous, no problem, you can send me a private message instead. All communications I receive will be treated in confidence.

The Turkish laws must be changed to make it difficult for lawyers, emlaks, builders etc to take peoples' money and do as whatever they like with it.”

To follow on from another thread "Let's end the tapu scandal" I didn't want to digress on that thread as my question isn't as important as those about losing properties.
It refers to Panthers advice ref. contacting the finance Ministry about irregularities on paying taxes.
Would this apply to prices recorded on tapus,as after all this is also tax evasion and practised by many builders.

Visit istanbul from sg for less than £4 each.

OPPORTUNITY IS NOWHERE? - OPPORTUNITY IS NOW HERE!

Both statements use the same letters but in a slightly different order.

We have been using the Istanbul route for quite a while now. If we have many hours to wait for our internal connection to Bodrum, we take the number 10 bus from Sabiha G Airport to Kadikoy (the port on the south side of the Bosphorus) at a cost of 3TL (6TL return) and then the ferry boat to the Galata Bridge in the centre of the city (about 40 mins) with fantastic views of the entire Istanbul skyline, including the Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace - this is one of the most wonderful ferry trips in the entire world and certainly the cheapest for the level of enjoyment - The ferry crossing costs and unbelievable 1.5TL each way (3TL total) with the service running each 30 mins throughout the day. This is the method that the local people use to move about the city.

So for a cost of just 9TL, this has to be the most value for money experience you will ever encounter.

However, make sure you avoid the tourist touts, who hover around the harbour areas. They will give you the impression that they are the ferry people and that you should use them. They will charge silly money to use a smaller boat, resulting in a hellish crossing.

You can't mistake the correct ferry boats - they are all painted with the usual yellow and white funnels. All ferry boats provide cheap drink and snack on board. A tea cost the usual .75TL.

The ferry arrives at the Galata Bridge, which is within 5 minutes walk of the Spice and Grand Bazaar. Taksin Square can be reached also within 5 minutes in the opposite direction. The buses and trams are ridiculously cheap.

There are many quality restaurants wherever you look!

So, in summary, if you feel the many hours between connecting flights at Sabiha Gokcen is NOT an opportunity - think again and enyoy one of the most fantastic cities in the world for a cost of just £3.86.

Alternatively, for the less adventurous, you can take the regular bus service from SG to Pendick, which is a local port and just 15 minutes from the airport. The buses run every 15 minutes or so and also cost 3TL each way.

Either way - there is no need to be bored at SG. You will save a fortune, by not eating or drinking at the airport during the wait, and spending your money elsewhere and take in a little Turkish experinience at the same time.

THIS IS MY CHALLENGE TO YOU ALL - GIVE IT A TRY - FEED BACK WILL BE WELCOME

We have decided to sell our apartment but we do not have a habitation certificate. Are they a new thing?

We bought the apartment 7 years ago off a British friend we had known for many years. The previous owner to her, a Turkish woman, bought it off plan direct from the builder, this women is now our next door neighbour!

The block is about 11 years old. The other apartments in our block are all Turkish full time residents. All the utilities are in our name also. I understand that if we don't have a habitation certificate then nobody in the block has?

Are we able to sell without this certificate? Will anyone want to buy it without one?

Many thanks in advance x
