I know a girl who knocked two small villas into one and made the downstairs totally for disabled as her father is in a wheelchair. She has made the bathroom for wheelchair access and all the correct heights for tiolet etc. She rents this out but I am not sure what your requ1rements are.
Could you e mail me through the forum and let me know your abilities or not as the case may be.

hotels open in January (Fethiye/Calis)

As I have previously stated, I am intending to go to Fethiye in January, with my brother to look at properties & hopefully find a good'un. I wondered if anyone could recommend somewhere to stay? We intend to stay for at least four nights, possibly more. It does not need to be 5 star, as long as it is clean & reasonably priced. Thanks in anticipation.

Hi Dave, I would ask your estate agent as it may be that they can get a discounted rate. I've not stayed at these but am told that the Ata Park in Fethiye is nice, not sure if the Golden Moon in Calis is open, it was last winter afaik.

Thanks Tonya, I just looked up the Ata Park, it sounds nice & at just over £20 per night for dinner , bed & breakfast looks promising.

Dave, the Ata Park is 100m down the hill from our apartment. Several friends who stayed in our apartment and fancied a swim have used their pool! Only ever had positive feedback about the staff, food and prices. Can't comment on the rooms I'm afraid.

If you can't get the Ata Park, there's several hotels on the same road, Levent, Doruk, Yacht Hotel and as far as I know they are all open during winter. The Karagozler/Tasyaka dolmus passes all of them so no probs getting into town. Taxi back at night as far as the Ata Park no more than about 7 or 8Mil.

Mibbe see you there depending on when you're going...

Cheers John, sounds like there's no shortage of places open in winter, which is not what I expected. I have not yet finalised dates etc. but it will certainly be in Jan. subject to arranging mutually suitable times off work. It would certainly be great to meet up whilst we are there, as soon as I have booked, I will post it up on the new travelling dates section.

Just a thought Dave, if you fancy a hotel in town then there's always the Yeniceri.

Its in the less touristy end of town, one of the streets behind Vals Bar, do you know where I mean? They've got a web site at:

http://www.turkuaz-guide.net/yeniceri/

We stayed there a few years ago when our apartment was being completed and found them really friendly and the rooms plain but spotlessly clean. They only do breakfast but lets face it, you're not going to be eating in that often!

Wow! that really is very reasonably priced, but I've got to admit that the sports facilities at the Ata Park sound tempting. I've got to admit that this will be my first trip to Turkey, although I feel as though I have been there after reading this forum along with many other sources on the internet. i feel sure that it is one of those places that exceeds your expectations. Can't wait.

Hi Dave,
does it have to be Fethiye?
The Harman hotel in Calis is lovely , very friendly and Turkish and meals throughout the day even in the winter.
The Ece Saray is the best of course in Fethiye harbour with Gym etc adn if you call or check their web site they are more expensive than other hotels but they do good deals in the winter.
Talking of Yeniceri, I had customers of ours stay there last year and they were't impressed and we moved them out. It is cheap and clean but tends to cater for all turkish adn there is an abundance of Cay! lol..
As I live here e mail me if you have any more questions.
Take Care
