Property Developers in & Around Fethiye

Hi All,

I am a new member and have some questions for you all.

My Brother & I are looking to buy a new build off-plan property in the Fethiye region.

Anyone know of any new developments planned / under construction that are worth a look?

We are looking for a 3 bed apartment with shared pool close to the sea etc - what would be minimum price for this? £30K, £40K?

We are coming out to Turkey in Jan/Feb next year. Rather than wondering around aimlessly looking at property after property. We are looking to find a handful of good, established and reliable developers within the region. The plan is to take a walk around several developments to check build quality and maybe have a chat with one or two of the owners etc.

We are planning on appointing UK solicitors to deal with the legalities of our planned purchase - any tips or recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Jamie
The properties are alot more expensive Fethiye, olu, calis than in Altinkum not sure what you can buy for 30-40K, why use a UK solicitor we used a turkish one and everything went through with no problems, and did not cost us much (cannot remember the exact price. Friends have ours have purchased a villa of plan in Calis paid 66,000 and theres 2 left at a price of 77,000 and they only purchased in July this year.

Hi Jamie,

There are still some good bargains to be had in Calis and Fethyie but I think most new build is a little more exspensive.

You will be able to pick up a re-sale for around the £30k to £40k mark but it will probably need some tlc.

If I was you I would contact some of the agents in the area and ask them what they think. We used Hallmark properties but I know that many people have used Taurean and found them brilliant.

There's a list of agencies somewhere on this site and they will have details of new build as well as re-sale. Have a look at it.

There's also a string on good and bad agents so you might be able to avoid some of the rogues out there!

Good luck.

ps - we used a Turkish solicitor too without any problems. If you use an English one they will need to speak fluent Turkish and I think it will cause you a few problems - but hey, if you do and it works then let us know on here.

Hi Jamie
Welcome to the forum, like Sylvia we have a villa in Altinkum. We have bought and sold twice in Altinkum and like the above have used turkish solicitors. The process really is as easy as it sounds.
We looked in Fethie and Calis but prefered Altinkum as you could get a lot more for your money (we did buy nearly 2 years ago though)And i preferd the resort.
For the Altinkum area try Mushtaq or Speedy, both can be found under the members heading, they are both involved in property development in Altinkum.
I had an email from a friend of mine who lives in Altinkum yesterday telling me about a 3 bed duplex (i think?) for sale on a small complex with a pool for £45,000 quick sale as the builder wants to move on.That is a good price, what was selling for £24,000 when we first bought is now selling for £50,000.But i hope that the properties don't outprice themselves and it becomes like spain.
Good luck in your search and if you need any further questions answered just fire away!!!!!!

Hello Jamie,

Welcome to the forum, the prices are going up in Turkey all the time, but there are still a few bargains to be had, if you look and find the right agent to help you.

I'm sure you will find plenty of information over the few months before you go over and see for yourself.

In the meantime there is a directory of estate agents here http://www.TurkishEstateAgents.com/agents.asp that you might find usefull.

Another good site to check out prices and see what is available is my own new site http://www.CrescentHomes.co.uk not a lot of properties in the areas that you are interested in at the moment, but I will be adding a lot more very soon.

Hi Sharron

The whole area is being developed like crazy at the moment from what I hear, will let you know of the exact location on my return next week.

Dubai is great fun, been there a lot of times, you can get some very good deals to Dubai, they have some of the best hotels in the world, great shopping and fantastic food....hmmmm will have to go back very soon.

Sharron, Sunset court is being built not too far away from where myseld and mushtaq are building, a little further up the hill next to the huge, very expensive villa, known as the millionaire house?

Hi Jamie, you've found it at last! One word of warning though, watch out for some dodgy characters on here, particularly that terrible trio of Anne, Gail & Teresa, a right cheeky bunch they are!!!!!!!!!
