Re: British Turkish Society branch
I agree, but i dont think it is really aimed at the Turkish, but i can see the advantages of the ex-pat community, instead of paying £50 everytime they need something translated or in need of advice.
Will have to see how this one pans out and what help they give, I am sure the British will benefit from this service, as not all are connected to the internet or know about the forums. the only draw back that I can see is the location. it is neither Calis or Fethiye, but it is on the main dolmus route. in and out of both areas.

Sounds very much like the BCC they have up here which is full of elderly people still thinking they are living in the colonial days.

Turkish Lessons, Social Activities for British Community
I am Muzaffer Cetin, English Teacher, living in Fethiye.
I met Veysel -the founder of British Turkish Society- and was impressed with his character. I decided to help him voluntarily with the activities of British Turkish Society whenever I find free time. Having worked in Britain for 15 years Veysel as a dedicated person has been trying to bridge the poles of Western and Eastern cultures at the British Turkish Society .
He has been organising Turkish Lessons and some activities for the members of British Turkish Society.
Thanks Veysel to you for joining us..

Hi Smilingodessa
I was interested to learn that you are doing some volunteer work with the society.
I am over in turkey say every six or seven weeks, and plan to stay one day. I would love to learn more about the society and if i could help out in any way?
It would be great for your comments or advice>
many thanks and every best wish

Kleinian, you may wait a while for a response as he is no longer a member. The website for this organisation does not seem to have been updated for some time:
http://www.britishturkish.org/index.php
so it may not be active.
