Help needed from Pet Owners in Fethiye
Hi everyone
Can anyone help me please? I am trying to find out if there is a good Kennels in this area?
I am heartbroken to have to leave my dog behind whilst we go to the Uk this winter. Unfortunately it may have to be a long stay (possibly a few months) and I am worried about leaving him behind, but sadly I don't have any choice. This is an unforeseen and unavoidable trip, of course I would never consider planning a 'holiday' for this amount of time - I am normally a very 'responsible' pet owner!
Does anyone know of/have any experience of the Kennels here? Any information would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Karen

Karen
One of your neighbours in Kayakoy has already offered to help another member earlier in the year with the same problem.
Have a look here

and I suggest you send KKOB a message. I would be suprised if you didnt already know him in the village.
Good luck!
Merv!

kent vets opposite Migros have kennels in Kargi.
We visited there and they are really well looked after and have large living accomadation.
If you pop in and see Aynur and Cezmi Ocak at Kent they wil help.

Re: Help needed from Pet Owners in Fethiye
Hi Heidi
Thanks for that I will pop into Fethiye this week and see if I can have a look around. With only a month to go til the off I still haven't made any arrangements for my furbaby!
If the kennels don't work out I may leave him at home - my in-laws are downstairs and will take care of him in respect of feeding/letting him in and out of the house. I'm just worried about him not really having any 'interaction' with anyone as they are not 'pet' people. What I really need is a nice semi-retired person to set up a dog-walking business - just for the company of a dog lover for him! The problem is he's been spoilt rotten and thinks he's a member of the family. Actually I think he thinks he's royalty!

Re: Help needed from Pet Owners in Fethiye
I know what you mean.
My two are pampered and I am not sure how they would be in the kennels,
We are lucky enough to have dog sitters who stay at our house when we go away so our spoilt pooches have a routine and their soft beds. God, don't they rule your life?
Maybe you could find someone to do this? Or let your in laws do the basics and ask someone to come over and do the love bit.......Where do you live?

Re: Help needed from Pet Owners in Fethiye
Yes that would be ideal! He needs a stand-in 'mum'! I'm in Kaya. Trouble is most of the people I know in the village are Hubby's family, who are all lovely dont get me wrong, but they're not pet people. They think I'm bonkers when they see me let the dog sit on my lap etc! (He's only a miniature breed.)
I have some friends in Hisaronu who offered to take care of him but live right on a main road with no enclosed garden.....whereas our baby is used to all this land to roam and run as he pleases. I am going to go and have a look at the kennels, just to check all my options, but I am also going to start canvassing my friends to come and make a bit of a fuss of him. Isn't it mad how far we go for them?!
Even my parents when they're here visiting raise an eyebrow or two when they hear myself and Hubby referring to each other as 'mummy' and 'daddy' to the dog!
