We are deserting our family and grandchildren for a `one off` Xmas in our apartment in Turkey for a week this year.... Are there any restaurants in Fethiye anyone could recommend ? for Xmas day ? as we dont particularly want to be eating on our own, just the two of us in our apartment that day :-)

Dave, Christmas day is strange as it is not recognised as a relegious day or holiday, the Turks carry on as normal working, shopping etc..

Many Bar and restaurants are slowly realising that the ex-pats celebrate and do their best to make the day special, we found last year it was better to go out at night to as had a cold and dark feel of a uk christmas. Now New Year is a real celebration! and no holds barred parties, dinners, trimmings and fireworks.

So for christmas dinner celebrations their are many in Calis, Nil Bar on the beach front I know for definate that Angel is putting on a dinner, in Fethiye the Ege Saray hotel, although they are a little more expensive. As the advertisments start coming in for Christmas celebrations I will post them on the forum.

thanks Lorraine... we spent a `new years eve`( week) in Hisaronu in 2004... it was great although it rained constantly for the whole 5 days we were there :-)

Yes I have heard the same, but as I cant find advertising on it I will have to have a scout round, friends went last year and said it was really good, and went on into the evening, i will try to get round and ask Mete what the rates are and cost.
