Olu Deniz held the 6th year airshow. This is held every October with a display of the Turkish Airforce. The number of spectators growing every year.

We had breakfast in Hisaronu then headed down the hill for Olu Deniz, as we rounded the corner Olu Deniz looked like one huge car park, cars were parked from the top of the hill to the bottom and along the roadside up to Lykia world resort. luckily we managed to park in Olu Deniz itself.

Not long after our arrival the the red and white jets buzzed overhead in an arrow formation. They were so low that you could see the markings of all the jets. They buzzed through the valley spinning and carrying out various other stunts, The finale was 2 jets making a huge red smoke heart in the sky over the sea. The mass of spectators made the mood of the event electrifying, and for once the resort was full of Turkish people way out numbering the foreigners.

After the Turkish Airforce Jet display the sky was filled with Paragliders some showing off there aerobatic skills. There was a Microlite planes taking base jumpers up to jump free fall from 4000ft, one was the Bird man who had the special flight suit enabling him to fly through the air pulling the shute at the last minute and landing on the beach. Mad Mickey from Austria gave a breathtaking display, on his last jump he land on the public toilet building top of the beach and tapped danced his way off!!

It was a glorious day, the sun was shining and it was very hot. Unfortunately, the wind got up late in the afternoon and the Paragliders aerobatic display had to be cancelled. Each year the show becomes a little more spectacular cant wait till next year.
