I'm tempted to ask how they can afford the mooring fees in the marina - but I wont!
Seriously, I thought they stayed in open sea and deep water for most of the year and only came inshore to lay eggs. It is such a delight to see them, but I am constantly surprised at how oblivious most people are to them - even locals. During the summer they cruise up and down near the promenade seemingly trying to get their bearings - I presume looking for a beach to lay eggs upon - popping their heads up, unnoticed by passers-by.
