Question Flyfishing around bodrum

Hi all I am going to Bodrum in a week and have been trying to find some info on fly fishing in both sea and freshwater but there seems to be none available, also if anyone has any info on fishing in general in this area I would be very grateful if you could pass it on to me!

Re: Flyfishing around bodrum

Cardiff123, I don't know that area, but one bit of advice is that you probably have to bring everything you will need in the way of fly fishing kit. I have not been able to identify any specialist shops so far (but watch this space in case something is revealed) on this coast. I am further down the coast in Fethiye, so I can't advise on the fishing in your area. Perhaps you can let us know how it goes?

Thumbs up Re: Flyfishing around bodrum

Hi and welcome to Turkish Living!

Info is a bit thin on the ground as we speak.

This particular area of Turkish Living has only started this last week but you are definitely among fishing enthusiasts.

Bodrum has some good fishing, but at the height of the season most of the boat trips are just a hand line and bread paste jobs for the tourists happy to catch a few spratts.

I am sure you will have a great time in Bodrum and if you do find anything by chance please let us know!

Look forward to some piccies when you get back!

Merv!

Re: Flyfishing around bodrum

Hi Cardiff [I live there too]I have searched on loads of angling sites to find info about fly fishing in Turkey but no use except the one on the Fethiye? Times.[I have a place in Side]There are loads of rivers around here and I found a shop in Magnavgat a town near Side, the owner new about flyfishing but only stocked spinning gear, and he showed me his river licence! Just a reminder that you cannot take rods and tackle on as hand luggage on the airplane, I dont fancy putting my Sage in the hold!!!!!
If you learn anymore please let me know.
kind regards Phil

Immac is the author/editor of the fishing sector of Fethiye Times.

Hopefully, we can expand the information because there is definitely a demand Phil
