It looks like either a dusky or striped grouper.

Re: another big fish

he caught a bigger one the night before..i though it was a mermaid he was carrying in the bucket ...its tail was massive.
Bob they go out in a little battered old chuggy boat ..last of the summer wine type crew... normally they catch smaller fish ..more often than not the buckets empty.

tips
he uses chicken for bait..and these fish are in very deep waters 350 meters

Niels is on a distinguished road
Re: another big fish

Just came back from Finike, catched loads of Baloonfish there, some others im trying to find the names of, nothing bigger than 40 cm unfortunately. Salted chicken is what they all use here. I went out on a boat from a turkish guy in the harbor, you can rent it for about 60 euro for the whole day. I tried fishing from the beach too, no luck there, but you'd need to cast far and then fish with chicken or a small fish and you could catch some pretty deacent seabass there.

Re: another big fish

The Baloon fish are a huge problem they have only been around here
(Bozburun peninsular) for the past three years since they arrived the
calamari seem to have almost dissapeared & they can bite through the
lines with the greatest of ease to
