Fishing advice

Hi all. I have a place in ortaga and love a 12 islands boat trip from Gocek. I've fished wit bread and chicken off the boat and caught little fish but I want to catch bigger. Has anyone taken frozen bait over and if so what? And did it work. I'm thinking of taking frozen squid. Any tips would be much appreciated Ie hook size and line strength

Re: Fishing advice

Do you not need a Fishing Licence ?......

I guess if you are on a registered Fishing boat, then it would not be a problem. But not sure on this one if you Fish by yourself....

Re: Fishing advice

Fishing in Turkey is a difficult hobby. I've been fishing all my life and this is the hardest place I've ever fished.Firstly, fish like cold water so your onto a loser right away here. You need to go out for miles if you want to catch the big fish.I use chicken, but I get the cockles off the rocks at the harbour and also squid from Metro if I'm going on a boat. From the beach I use chicken and cockles but Balloon fish are a problem in Alanya, they bite through the line and are a bloody menace. As for Lakes and rivers its worms, but I'm not keen on that kind of fishin.Hooks,it depends what your going for and line,I use 20 kgs.Good luck and my your line always be heavy.

Re: Fishing advice

Balloon fish of puffer fish as they are sometimes called big problem in Fethiye gulf now too and are breeding , they are not native and come from the red sea,
they are deadly poisonous with no known antidote, about 1,200 times more poisonous than cyanide ....don't eat them ...lol
