Football today
I don't go to many football matches these days but I was at the MK Dons match yesterday and unfortunately was sitting in front of two yobbos(not young about 30-35, shaved heads etc) who were constantly swearing, being vulgar and making racist innuendos. We were four rows back from the front of the half way line and the steward could hear everything that was being shouted and did nothing. There were young children all around and I could see people getting very uncomfortable but maybe was feeling a bit threatened by them. I was biting my lip and asking myself is it me and is this normal to endure this at matches nowadays. Anyway it came to a head when the main culprit(sitting on the seat right behind me) blurted out some rubbish and touched me on the shoulder and asked me what I thought. I swung around and told him I thought he had a big gob. Everything went quiet and I expected some repercussions but luckily he muttered something and was muted. 2nd half he moved off somewhere else in the ground. Now i've been to a couple of grounds this year Southend, Chelsea and had no problems. Has any of the regular football supporters experienced issues that were not dealt with this season when clearly their obscenities could be heard by the stewards?

Re: Football today
All the stewards seem to care about is that people sit down and don't stand up. Everytime I go to a Bolton game it's the same routine, the stewards come along and tell everyone to sit down! Then as soon as they are gone everyone stands up again. They don't seem to care about what people are shouting or chanting about. I was disgusted a few games ago when some kids about 16 years old were shouting and throwing food at some disabled fans..One of the support workers told a female steward but nothing was done!!
Good for you Martyn telling him he had a big gob!
