Out of interest do any of the posters live within 20 miles of Manchester.
Another generation of Surrey and Home counties United fans to be created .

Give us a break, Kev. A few years ago there was a survey of football fans where Manchester United was shown to have more supporters living near the club than any other team in England. People support football clubs for all sorts of reasons. I'm sure your club wouldn't turn up its nose at the revenue generated by thousands of extra supporters wherever they hailed from. You might even reap the reward by seeing better football from better players.

Guz I think Kev meant there are many who are all around the country. It's a fact if you are successful then you will gain a lot of the young support(unless you indoctrinate them from birth which i didn't) My youngest aged 20 is Man Utd and my eldest aged 34 is Liverpool so you can see when they were impressed by success. I was in no mood this morning to take anything from the youngest and told him if he wants to discuss the football match then fine and if he wants to bleat on about it to go with his non Mancunian mates to do so. I reminded him that the only time he had been to Man Utds ground is when i took him on a youth club football tour.

Re: Great night for the reds
Martyn,
I have been a fan of Manchester United ever since the days when George Best was my pinup. Long before then they had very many fans here in Ireland. One of our travelling companions had been attending matches since before the Busby glory days. Ill health has stopped our friend attending the matches but he is a lifelong Manchester United fan and so, now, are his children and grandchildren. Like I said, there are lots of reasons why people support a football club and I agree with you that some of that is down to glory hunting but so what if it gets young people interested in the Beautiful Game.

I just thought Guz, little does my Man Utd supporting son(and grandson) know that I have signed their names up as a Chelsea members so I can get tickets for matches next season easier.

Lol, the players were involved in yet another brawl, and there was fighting between the fans in the streets afterwards.
Can't argue that it was an exciting game though. Chelski deserved it on balance. They did hit the woodwork twice and had a lot more shots on goal, but united got the rub of the green.
Drogba? ... An ass!!!
