Its just a shame that the Man U supporters who actually live in the locality were unable to share a piece of the moment in the city because the usually expected open top bus procession had been banned by the local authority and Police on safety reasons, which broadly interpreted meant 'we are not putting up with any bother in the city like we encountered with the drunken Jocks who purported to be Rangers fans'.
Great shame as the Man U lot were going to be in a jovial mood and hardly likely to be scrapping amongst themselves after a result like that, but the powers that be are no longer prepared to risk it.
Well done Man U - shame the final celebration was spoiled by the past behaviour of the idiots !

Good on you mushroom. There's usually no love lost between Leeds and ManU fans so your thoughtful remarks are appreciated.

Re: Great night for the reds
Well as a Man U supporter I am one Happy Happy Little Bunny, I think that the Manchester Local Authorities should think again about not letting us have an open bus parade.
This is not stating we will not put up with the drunken idiots who want to spoil everything, this is giving in to them and saying we are not able to cope with this sort of situation, they should be saying we were not ready for what happened but we will be in the future.
They are supposed to be our police force and in control not roll over and let these sort of idiots win when something like this happens and go hide in a corner and stop people from enjoying themselves, why should we be punished for what a load of drunken idiots do.

Thanks, Wiuru, for that link. Good to know that the Manager appreciates the supporters.

Re: Great night for the reds
This is just part of a article in "The Telegraph"today it really made me giggle, it is about our great manager SAF.
The blow-torch solution to problem-solving is Ferguson's stock in trade. The story is told of a player who sat through one of the manager's rages with a pair of pants on his head. At the height of the tempest, Ferguson had kicked over a laundry basket, sending kit flying. The young lad was too traumatised to move and sat beneath his impromptu crown in silence until the storm passed. When it did Fergie said: "And you can take those ******* pants off your head. What are you playing at, man?"

Re: Great night for the reds
On the radio this morning they were talking about the new serious of "BIG BROTHER" it is reported that one of the possible contestants has scored with an un-named Chelsea player,so we can eliminate John Terry and Nicholas Annelka they would have missed.
