Re: Rugby 6 nations

Could be any of them to win the tournament apart from Italy.
I want England to win of course but reckon probably Wales.

Re: Rugby 6 nations

This opening weekend is key. Scotland at home to England and the winner of that match will be on a roll. Scotland have home advantage and a reasonably settled squad, whereas England have a point to prove, huge strength in depth, a potentially lethal set of backs and a strong pack. If they can get over their World Cup disaster they'll be hard to beat and are my favourites to win the 6 nations.

PS..... I say that every year.

Re: Rugby 6 nations

Being Welsh I always support them whatever, but this year we do have a few short-comings tbh.

Gareth Anscombe at Fullback - weak under the high ball.

Rob Evans at Prop - good young un, but lacks experience at this level, as we struggle to replace Gethin Jenkins.

Plus we are playing 2 open sides.

As far as England go -Dylan Hartley disciplinary record must be a worry..??

Re: Rugby 6 nations

If Hartley can control his temper, maybe the responsibility of the captaincy will curb his hot hotheadedness.
Now then, what odds can I get on which of Dylan Hartley or Stuart Hogg will get the first card in the Calcutta cup?

Re: Rugby 6 nations

Cannot understand why Thomas Waldrom, Exeter number 8 is not in the squad. Prolific line breaker and try scorer and at 32 years old, at his peak.

Beware of the French this year, a total unknown quantity with so many new faces.

One sites Betting Odds.

England 6/4
Wales 11/4
Ireland 10/3
France 6/1
Scotland 16/1
Italy 500/1

Might be worth a punt on the Jocks.

Re: Rugby 6 nations

A good result for England, considering it's a new coach. Makes the next match interesting.

Re: Rugby 6 nations

Felt sorry for Italy. Thought they were going to take the French at one point.
England ground out a win away from home so maybe the start of a new era.
Saw nothing today that would keep the southern hemisphere teams awake at night though.
