Have we no shame

I know that Newcastle fans want rid of Ashley, but I cannot conceive how they can support a buyout from the sad arabia regime. Their human rights record, crimes in Yemen and murder of a Journalist in Istanbul should rule them out. IMHO people really need to be careful what they wish for. I cannot see them being sponsored by Newcastle Brown Ale at any time in the future.

Re: Have we no shame

The fiancée of murdered journalist Jamal Khashoggi has urged the Premier League to block the proposed sale of Newcastle United to Saudi Arabia.

Lawyers for Hatice Cengiz have written to the Premier League's chief executive, Richard Masters, suggesting that sanctioning a takeover of the St James' Park club by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund would make English football complicit in the "cover-up" of Khashoggi's alleged murder by the kingdom.

No we do not have any shame.
Difficult to expect the Premier League to make a moral stand when the UK sells so many arms and military training to these people.
Sorry our arms trade and money far more important than human rights.
If it were not the case we would have stopped it years ago.
Absolutely disgusting state of affairs.

Re: Have we no shame

Why no ruling on this from the Premier league? What are they waiting for? piracy of EPl matches proven. Unfit, now lets move on. Stop this sportswashing of sad arabia.
Now there is another, higher, bid from the USA

It's not an alleged murder.

Not my words, I provided the link which you did not not include in your quote.

That doesn't stand up at all. It's no excuse. Why should the PL follow others' questionable decisions; government or not? Don't they have any moral backbone of their own or do they just come running to any old pile of money, regardless? It looks like they're happy to prostitute the supporters' ideals for a deal.

If they had any intelligence they would see that refusing the deal would put them on a higher moral ground.
Look at the reactions to Marcus Rashford this last week. There's massive support for some decency across society.

Classic example of greed and shows the distance that football has travelled from 'sport'.

. and we thought it could not get any more convoluted. Sad Arabia bans 'legal' EPL broadcasts from Qatar-based BeIN.
