Just wondered if Mushtaq can tell how many active members the forum has? Most posts seem to come from a few members, apart from a few newbie introductions. The statistics say over 7000 members but a quick look at the members' lists shows lots that haven't visited since 2007 and earlier. I know some appear in invisible mode (for whatever reason) but there seems to be lots who don't come at all.

Re: Forum Members
At the bottom of the forums you can see how many people visit per day. Most of those i think are the mainstay of the forums and are there day after day.

Re: Forum Members
Does it create a problem if people aren't posting? I mean is it impacting on the technical side of things? Mushtaq?

If they are browsing it can have an impact on the server. I think Mushtaq has moved servers to get a better performance, more people browsing and posting does have a load on the site.

Re: Forum Members
I think what Carolyn means is, how many of the 7000+ members are still active, a lot have not been online since 2005-2006-2007, so if these members were removed from the active members list, how many members would there really be, who have visited or posted on the forum in 2008.

Re: Forum Members
We have a lot of members who do not post but just read, there are a lot who have probably forgotten the forum link and their account details, great many won't even be shown in the member list, because that only shows members who have posted.
Most times we have more guests then members looking in, most of this information is available on the forum home page at the bottom.
There is an upgrade planned very soon, and with that I will do a mailing to all inactive members to remind them of the forum and their details, will also do a tidy up of the forum and remove or merge some of the inactive sections.
Unfortunately as the forum gets more popular, it's also a target for spammers, so we get loads of new 'members' registering daily, but because of functionality implemented on the forum they are not able to do the spamming and never return, these will be removed regularly.
