Gluten free

Hi
We are a family coming to side next wednesday.
And one of us must have gluten free food.
Is there any recomandation for places where we can get Gluten free food?
In Restaurants.
In Supermarkeds.

Re: Gluten free

I would politely suggest you self cater. Restaurants wil not have a clue. Gluten free is available but not generally. So you will need to rely on fresh home cooked in the main or do the usual , plain grilled meals with veg.

Re: Gluten free

Supermarkets sell gluten-free flour, but you probably donīt want to be baking while on holiday.
You canīt trust the restaurants: even if they understand what you are talking about their response will always be one to get you through the door and say anything to keep you happy.

Re: Gluten free

If you search on-line for celiac travel.com which is an Australian site, you can then download and print out the required cards in Turkish/English, and many others.

It maybe useful to print out in both English and Turkish, then you can also check yourself

Print and take a few with you. Remember and check type of rice that the restaurants will serve you with, as sometimes the rice will include vermicelli or Bulgar, which are the little brown bits in the rice.

Always ask if the sauces contain flour, as most Chefs will try to change the sauce to suit

We have a supply of the cards in Turkish, which we leave in our Apartment, and most Restaurants will try to accommodate your requirements.

My wife has used these cards in Turkey for the last 5 years with only the minor problem, which was quickly rectified.

Any queries, just send me a personal message and we will try to help as much as we can.

Enjoy your holiday, and eat well

Sandy
