Damp Proofing

New building regulations now have many properties being built with proper damp proof membranes -therefore alleviating the rising damp problems in new homes.
I just wanted to know if any members have tried damp proofing older properties -especially in the Kusadasi area. I have heard that there are companies in that area who provide that service and I just wanted to know how successful the operation is and what guarantee is issued.

Re: Damp Proofing

Our properties are 10 years old, though sold as new builds, but we all have the damp problem. aiats one thing to get damp proofing but another to get thedeveloper to take responsibility and meet the costs of same.
Good Luck

I have just completed a new build membrane for a client in Dalyan using a Polyethylene system. Life expectancy 100 yrs. The builder told him they would put special polymers in the concrete..... Yeah Rock n' roll.

Re: Damp Proofing

I have just picked this up on another forum.

Quote "We dont usually recommend the bore hole insulation, because damp will still rise vertically via the iron posts in your main building structure. We have done the cheaper version for a few people now, including our own-ie removing old plaster, drying out, using sealant then waterproof plastering again"
Quote "The blocks are hollow you would never properly insulate the damp, you would just be wasting your money, these builds out in Turkey, (most) are single skin hollow pot blocks the terracotta type so how is the insulation going to work...it won't" Unquote

Now i credit myself with more than an ounce of sense and although i'm no expert, even i can work out that this is total c**p!Correct me if i'm wrong but since when does iron soak up water and isn't it logical that doing it this way you would still have the same problem next year.

Maybe No-Nem could answer this one for me.

Re: Damp Proofing

Hi,
I have had the injection work done by No-Nem. It was carried out last November, and so far i am more than happy with it.
The work was carried out professionally.
