Re: Plaster cracks

if you've only one or two small cracks in the plaster you could use toothpaste!! i did this several years ago in the bathroom and it's still as good as then.

Re: Plaster cracks

best to use something acrylic based as it is more flexible, or use flexible tile adhesive/grout

this is a typical filler

Kalekim 3023 İzolatex 2 Bilieşenli Su İzolasyonu - 20 kg

Thanks for that-though I have only about 6 cracks to fill in so was hoping they have smaller tubes/pots of ready to use stuff as opposed to builder style mixing it up from powder

Re: Plaster cracks

any tube of acrylic filler will do, though i have found that the applicator guns wont last for a full tube !

you can get a 1 kg bag of kalekim tile grout for about 2 tl in most yapi markets

Re: Plaster cracks

Acrylic filler is generally for inside use. Local tradesmen here use Kalekim (or other brand) ceramic tile adhesive and plaster 50/50 mix. This makes a strong multi use masonry plaster/filler.

Not ready mixed but only takes a couple of mins to knock up, it sticks like poo to a blanket and does the job well. Prime before painting with Polysan Natura primer thinned to 5 parts water 1 part primer. Little cracks probably won’t need priming.

Are you alright Philip, perhaps the heating is getting too much? It's not like you to make a sensible post. I'm waiting for the punch line

Yapi Market think that is how it is spelt, the big DIY place in town, sell it by the kg or smaller amount if you want it, dead cheap as well.
