Water Depot

We are thinking of changing our extra water depot this year. At the moment we have a manky white plastic one which holds 2 or 3,000 litres. (not sure exactly). What size do you guys have bearing in mind that we don't live there permantely. We have never run out of water even when the water is turned off for the day. Also should we get a metal one or a rigid fibreglass type. Can the water we have in the depot be transferred to the new one when its fitted. We would not be putting it in the same place as the existing one as we don't like where it was sited (right outside our back balcony)

Re: Water Depot

When we were replacing ours Ozan our friend & neighbour advised us to get a blue non transparent depot tank. He explained that the white ones when left ( we leave ours for 11 months of the year) let the sun turn the water stagnent & green slime to develop. So we followed his advice & got the dark blue 3000ltr tank. We will see how it is this year when we get out to Bodrum.
Hope this helps,
Bill
