External Insulation of Turkish Property?

I recently asked for an estimate to paint the outside of my apartment, the painter told me that from 2017 I would need to have external insulation fitted to the property ,this applied to all properties built before 2011,can anyone throw any light on this subject

Re: insulation

We have been told the same. It is something to do with a government directive to increase the insulation on properties (some of which are minimally insulated). The new directive suggests we will be looking at a minimum of 20cm on external walls and the same sort of levels for inside lofts. We have looked into this for our (new) external walls and it is completed by means of insulation sheets and a thin layer of concrete that also has insulation properties in the mix. Insulation sheets quoted at 50TL for 8metre squared plus concrete plus labour. Hope some of the info helps!

Re: insulation

We were quoted 60 tl per sq metre in Yalikavak, I didn't ask for the quote it was just offered so there is probably room for some chipping on the price. That was start to finish with the top coat being white, I think the insulation quoted was 70mm, 200 mm seems massive to me.

Re: insulation

Well, I for one think it is crazy.....not the insulation but the fact that ALL properties in Turkey have to be insulated by the year 2017, there must be millions of properties without insulation.
So what are they going to do......fine every owner that hasn't had it done. What about the villages and the poor people in them who haven't any cash.
OK, they (THE GOV.) might decide to double the council tax for instance, but so what! Our site had a quote last year and it was for a min. of 3000lira per aptm.
Another crazy rule which will probably get changed brought out by nutters in gov.
Not that I disagree with having it done.....but when they start bringing out deadlines, Aaaaahhh, Jeeez.

Re: insulation

I didn't say that every property on Turkey had to be insulated by 2017 I said the builder was making this claim ,I am just trying to find out if he was telling the truth

Re: insulation

I was told that all new properties, and any extensions had to have insulation as well, but looking at some of the new Turkish properties going up in our village, there seems to be no sign of insulation.

I was in two minds when I had my property built in 2012, but went with the insulation, as one of the other advantages of have insulation is, that it will keep the heat in the house in the winter months, and will over a longer period cost less to keep warm inside the house.
