Plants n things.......

As I literally don't know which way up to plant grass I would be grateful for a couple of quick tips 're gardening

1 Is it the right/ wrong time of year to put flowers in the garden

2 the flower plants you see advertised for baskets- can you plant them in the garden

Have looked at numerous gardening websites and get totally conflicting answers

Cheers in advance

Wait until there is no chance of a frost . So not looking good at the moment. Best time is really late April through may for flowers. But would still need fleecy protection should the temperature drop severely. Shrubs - treat the same.
The plants you buy for baskets are not really suitable for garden beds. Only use in baskets or tubs. For instance Begonias. Trailing type for baskets. Straighter types for tubs and beds. Same goes for Geraniums or Pelargoniums . Other stuff sold for baskets and tubs won't look as good in a flat bed.

Hope that helps. And. Don't caste a clout till May is out. -

This can be grown at anytime of the year. Indoors with heavy duty lights on. Outdoors- preferably in someone else's field.

Really it depends which country you are in. We have planted lots of things in Turkey, so far all doing well.
