I will get my plumber to do it. He knows where to shop, has all the gear and glues needed, and can buy the pipes trade prices. I will have two made, one for vegetables and the other for strawberries.

Re: Hydroponic System

Getting into a right state over trying to import fertilizer for hydroponics! Decided to go back to the start point and try to track it down in Turkey; I have found a supplier called Madrasol that seems to sell specialist hydroponic fertilizer for the three crops I want - tomato, veg and strawberries.

Their Web site is not too sophisticated, you pay by Bank Transfer and all in Turkish, but each one is 10TL cheaper than they are on Gittigidiyor.

Web : Solucan Gübresi ve Kaliforniya Solucan? Sat?? Tane Fiyat? 0,15 TL : Madrasol.com

Sold by others on Gittigidiyor - example: https://urun.gittigidiyor.com/ev-bah...imi-365644294#

This more like your standard grow bag system. Is the gutter just for drain off ?

I don't know, I was hoping that someone could explain. The ad said that they had several hundred bags for sale at about 5TL each.

Sorry i miss read it looks like a drip feed system .Something like a fibrous coco peat very good drainage. It looks like to me the black pipe is normal water feed . Is the red pipe the feeder pipe and the roots go into the trough with the water feed ?

Re: Hydroponic System

It looks like the roots stay in the bag. One picture shows the gutter inverted as if it is just to sit the bags on. Perhaps he did not read the instructions the right way up. It is more a commercial grow-bag system, and does not seem to recirculate the water.

At first i thought standard grow bag system ,then i thought what are the pipes for. It looks as if you are right the stop ends seem to be upside down.

Re: Hydroponic System

What an interesting topic, (for me anyway) just had time to read through all the posts and links. Looking forward to hearing on continued development of members systems and end results.
Put this on my wish list, when we finally settle in turkey again.

Re: Hydroponic System

Strawberry tower up and running. Now sourced specialist hydroponic fertilizer (link below - but mostly Turkish language).
I was trying to avoid water treatment, but above supplier made it clear I will be fumbling around in the dark unless I grasp the issue. Unless you understand what is in the water, and how the plants are taking up the solution, you can not give the right dose, then run the risk of wasting fertilizer or not getting best results. It does however play to my obsessive compulsive side, so what the hell!

Which brings me to the subject of the day: do local water treatment facilities use chlorine or chloramine? Does anyone know, or know how to find out?
