Re: ttnet dialup help please

Not sure about their specific dial-up package but if you subscribe to ADSL you can also use dial up as a fall-back or if travelling. If I remember right the number is 2000145 and you enter your ADSL username and password as sign-in credentials. Now I'm not sure if this bills the ADSL user or the phone line user but suspect the later as in one of the villages here where there is no ADSL the village school, shop and muhtar all share a friends login credentials who has ADSL.

Re: ttnet dialup help please

They haven't got ADSL. That's why they're asking about dial-up.

Yes but you 'borrow' the login details from a friend who has got ADSL, as if you are your friend travelling.

Re: ttnet dialup help please

If the house doesn't have an ADSL line, there's no point !!

But, thanks for your help.

Right here it is in simple form.

ME, I have ADSL, my login is blah@ttnet password 1234

My Friend has no ADSL but dials up using a standard modem to 2000145, this prompts for username and password, my friend enters blah@ttnet and password 1234, TTNET will authorise this and allow my friend to connect, via dial-up. He then pays through his phone line the line charges.

Talking Re: ttnet dialup help please

Even simpler for you !

You and I are both connected directly to a 'Motorway'. We have ADSL.

Your friend's connection isn't ADSL because he isn't connected directly to the Motorway !!

Between his house and ttnet he's travelling on a 'B' Road. His connection is only on a 'Motorway' from ttnet onwards.

All traffic travelling between his house and ttnet will get caught up in the bottlenecks that occur on 'B' Roads.

Let's not lose any more sleep over this one

Re: ttnet dialup help please

The question was about getting someone on dial up logged into the internet, and one way of doing this is to use someones ADSL login details. It doesn't get you connected to ADSL of course but it gets you connected to dial up and although this is a B road as you say its still much better than no road at all.
