Re: All things XBMC....KODI

Hi Trev

Thanks for your kind words and thoughts Trev and Alan.

Will give that one a go.....I tend to try these on my various tablets/ phones and keep my streambox free until they perform well, thereafter I apply to my main operating system.

Istreams and Pak TV are worth exploring....this guys tutorials are worth bookmarking on youtube...vdubt25.....just type in his name and check out his work.

You probably notice a lot of this stuff changes from time to time and would be my main reason for buying my main device from a dealer with a creditable background and support.....the extra 30 or 40 is worth the support and automatic updates.

I noted one or two of you were afraid to tamper with your devices.....Don't be afraid to try making changes to your devices....they are very easy to reset and reconfigure if it goes wrong at some stage....the plus side....you are getting the best from your device by adding to the performance and capability of these clever devices.

Thanks for sharing Trev

Re: All things XBMC....KODI

Hi Trev,
watchin it on xbmc box and have tunnel bear, so no probs there, can get ITV player just cant get iplayer? also the box done an update (not me updating) a few days and I lost lots of things, totally different screen! no movies 2 & 3 tabs, just got Videos, family, Virgin. As you can see no shortcut tabs, the icons are what I have added on, this box has a 'mind of its own' lol
tried to insert a picture of the screen but failed miserably!!

Re: All things XBMC....KODI

I'm afraid I can't help you Jan as I've never had or own one of these boxes. Its all a doggle if you put it on a tablet or laptop then feed it through your TV.I am sure there are a few on TLF who have these boxes, they may know, other than that Bueman will be on line tonight I think,he knows the in's and out's of these boxes so he will be able to put you right,or you could PM him.Hope you get it sorted.

Re: All things XBMC....KODI

Hi Jan

XBMC/KODI works along the same principal regardless of the device.....the difference is in the platforms that operate the device.... example Frodo...Gotham....Helix...Kodi and the various build release illustrated with a number after it....13.1....13.2 14...etc etc

Some of the developers favour certain platforms and stick to the stable releases and configure each setup according to their expertise.....it looks like your EYE CANDY has changed due to updates that your box provider has performed recently.

You will notice the RSS feeder running along the bottom advising updates or advertising certain devices.....this can be for your benefit. Advising a change to your box....sometimes your input is required and follow their instructions.

I also heard whispers about certain Developers releasing BOTS to turn off rival Dev's repositories or disabling them in their updates....rather childish behaviour....you can enable them yourself.

Go to settings and click on system then select Addons....it should offer you available updates and Disabled Addons......which you can enable.....or check the list of Addons enabled on your device....you can also get more addons if the relative Repositories are installed via the Install from Zip File.....

If you click on GET ADDONS it should open a host of repo's....try selecting LAMBADA'S repo and then select video addons....if it is there select GENESIS and enable it.

GENESIS is great for Movies and one of my favourites.

Delv a little deeper and click on settings then system then Services.....under WEBSERVER or REMOTE CONTROL you will see who is controlling your device for updates.....its more than likely your box supplier has set this to allow automatic updates.

Here is a good download for any device.....TV addons custom wizard.....you can install it on your device and it will work alongside your other settings with its own settings and not interfere with your current settings.

You can put your own programs or addons onto the home page by going to settings.....system....appearance....under the heading Skin....click settings....then ADDON shortcuts....you can change or remove selected addons and place your own on the home page short cuts.....to prevent clutter I use FAVOURITES to keep my setting and likes in this folder......if you like a particular addon.....highlight it and press the "C" key on your keyboard or the blue MENU BUTTON on your remote control to add to Favourites.

Hope this helps
