Re: trigeminal neuralgia

Hi Chris my wife has been suffering with severe Cranial nerve damage for the last 2 years, the doctor mentioned An operation for Trigeminal Neuralgia and I know that you had the op a number of months ago and was wondering if it is still a success as my wife is very nervous of a nerve op.

Re: trigeminal neuralgia

Yes everything is fine the op went well but remember there is no cure for TN the operation is fine they damage the nerve which stops the pain unfortunately the nerve also controls the side of your face my face is slightly frozen bit like when you come out the dentist strange fo a week of two but I have got used to it I play bowls nearly every day and don’t think about it just now and again this will carry on fo maybe a few years hope fully cos soon as the nerve heals itself the pain will probably come back then u just have the operation again
Tell your wife not to worry the op is a doddle the operated on me about 09.30 am I was on my home at 15.00pm and to be free of the TN pain is wonderfull feels like I have my life back
Good luck
