Re: English tv

You don't say which area you are in
For wifi, we have an option here in Didim of going with Aydem, Turk telecom, or one of the private suppliers (there are about 5 or 6)
For UK TV , you can download Mobdro on either a firestick or box , or pay for filmon or contact Akbuk Rob on here (but that is for laptop and pc only ), who gives you UK TV channels, catchup, soaps and films etc

Re: English tv

once you have internet (and make sure you have it completely unlimited - or they will throttle your service mid-way through the month, when they think you have used enough!), then contact one of the many suppliers. I quite like klixxTV based in Spain, but serving people worldwide. (just google KlixxTV) or Absolute TV based in England (google absoluteTV) - the only difference is that Klixx has somebody you can message or watsapp call (free) 24/7 for assistance/info. Generally you only pay once (for the mag box) and then never again....

PS: No need for ariels or dishes etc (so old hat eh) - its all delivered via internet

Hi OF, I think I paid about 50- for the box about 2 years ago, which includes all basic channels and films etc. I then started paying an extra 70- per year for full sky, Netflix, Prime and all football live (all prem matches - even the ones that are not on British TV) about 6 months ago.

Thanks but NO WAY am I paying anything like 70 for a years subscription just to watch TV on occasion when out on holiday for maybe 2-3 weeks 3-4 times a year, ok when I have been over for 3 months at a time was slightly different with being in my apartment a lot more but still would not pay that sort of cash. Hense my asking on the other thread about these low cost (15) annual subscriptions of which after all will only be as good as the Internet signal being received.

Re: English tv

There are several Turkish TV providers (D-Smart, Digiturk, Superonline...) that carry plenty of film, news, drama and science/nature channels in English. If it's specifically BBC, ITV etc you are after, then probably an internet service is needed.

Evo80. You say you use satellite. Is this to receive UK channels in Turkey?

I know, years back, Sky could be received using a satellite dish but that today it is not possible/difficult/needs a huge dish ??? as their satellite footprint has shrunk.

Does anyone still receive UK TV esp. Sky sports using a satellite dish ?

My friend in DIDIM did until last year when he changed because he was fed-up of having to have the dish (about 2 foot in diameter) re-aligned.
