Flash support ending

Hi.
I keep getting a message on my screen sayıng that soon support for Flash will end. How will I be able to watch tv on my laptop after that? To stream live it asks me to enable flash. I use google chrome and someone told me before that Chrome has its own flash but it does ask me to enable flash......I'm confused

Re: Flash support ending

Adobe is stopping updates and support from December 2020, therefore most Browsers will by default stop or block flash content.

Most are rewriting players to use Html5, I think ITV catchup has updated but watching live has not upgraded yet. It is a pain having to click enable flash in your browser but it will hopefully quicken the main sites to adopt Html5.

Flash is notorious for security issues and has been for quite some time so going forward it needed to be retired.

Re: Flash support ending

I'm waiting for answers too Alison, the same here... though when you click on it for info it says it's being phased out because people are using more secure versions, but it doesn't say what... so I guess we will just have to sit tight until someone in the know can help us. xx

Re: Flash support ending

People, isn't quite correct Sue, but I get what you mean; programmers are using other means than Flash; Flash needed a plug in HTML5 does not.

A browser user need not do anything other than make sure their browser is up to date.

Thank you as you can see Im not the slightest bit technical, but now I understand a bit better, so I'm guessing I don't have to physically do anything then? Or do I ? xx

Re: Flash support ending

No, all browsers use html (hyper text markup language) html5 is just an updated version that understands media. Your current browser will already understand it.

Go here and see if you can see everything, if you can then worry not.
