Milkshakes

My neighbours from England will be arriving in a weeks time, and l mentioned to their daughters last year, that l'll make them a truely thick American style strawberry milkshake, when you come over again, since they love milkshakes.
The problem is,l have no idea how to make a proper milkshake. Can someone please help me how to make the real Mc coy american style shake,l don't want to dissapoint them, since they won't let me forget about it,by e-mailing me.

Re: Milkshakes

they are easy

ice cream (the flavour that you want the milkshake) & milk ...you can also add extra ice if you want to make it really thick to begin with.

put all of them into a blender & voila!

Hi Bob

The Milk 99% of the people here use is not the same as in North America. McDonalds shakes here don't taste nearly as good as the one back in the states. You can get pastorized milk here in Turkey, I have found it in Ankara. We were using whole milk now I have also found 1 1/2% milk. Either would work great. This milk is only found in the cooler section of the store and has a limited expiration date.

Bob, ya, this Bob

Buy the sachets of Dr Oetkers from the supermarket - they are scrummy and thick. The trick is to keep it cool man! Choc, Banana and Starwberry available and at the moment you can buy a box of 8(?) with a free shaker included. 45kr each roughly.

Re: Milkshakes

Turkey, it was for kurush (probably not the right abbreviation LOL). They are in Tansas, Migros etc and even in some of our smaller supermarkets here.

Small sachets in the long boxes like you see cup a soups etc, normally around the cake making area I think. You can always try one and see if your son likes it.

If you want unhealthy eating - I can normally oblige

I make them using yogurt, milk, ice cream, a little water and ice plus whatever fruit you want to put in, blend and they are delicious

Re: Milkshakes

Bob, I make a thick milkshake, but i dont use yogurt, basically though same recipe as above.

ice cream
milk
ice cubes
flavorringg

just start out with something like 4-5 scoops of ice cream, a handfull of ice, flavoring or chopped fruit......and cover with milk, whirl....whirl.....whirl.....
take a look at the consistency, is it as thick as you would like? not thick enough? add more ice cream....too thick? add some milk. (add a couple of bananas for a delish banana milk shake...)

I bought those things from the market for instant milk shake, but havent tried it yet. I had brought back some smoothie mixes, I have been using them.

Good luck Bob, hope they turn out good.

just be sure you try to make them before your friend comes....
