Re: what did you have tonight

roast chicken thighs, carrots, spring greens, roast potatoes .... I am finding any processed food (which I hardly eat anyway) contains a lot of salt which I am not supposed to have, so It's back to basics, which actually I prefer. Went to M n S last night, looked round the rood hall, all ready meals - great for those who really don't have time to cook, but I didn't fancy any of it .... except for a rye bread loaf ....

Re: what did you have tonight

With you there eliza , i tend to stick with " from fresh " with occasional forays into ready to eat land , but not very often.

Pre prepared grub , to me often has a tang of the chemistry set about it , do you find it so as well eliza ?

Re: what did you have tonight

I agree Steve ready meals do have a whiff of chemistry about them. When you read the ingredients you can see why ! Wanted to buy tickets for Billy Bud at the Royal Opera House but the only tickets available were over 200 euros each so I declined them. Then the palace was closed because the king had arrived. Went to a lovely art gallery instead. They had a special exhibition of Bvlgari jewellery. Unbelievable the wealth of some people! Even solid gold evening bags encrusted with diamonds. All a bit vulgar ( although I think I could getaway with wearing it lol !) Found a nice little restaurant for dinner. I had mushroom risotto then fried fish with chips and salad. He had fish soup then a paella. A very good meal & cheap too. Spent the rest of the evening with a glass or two of red watching the girls plying their trade.

Re: what did you have tonight

Chicken thighs stuffed with an apricot savoury filling. Roasted swede , courgette , aubergine , garlic and tomatoes in a lemon juice and tomato puree dressing. The swede was oddly nutty , very surprising and enjoyable flavour.

Nice and tasty , very low syns.

Re: what did you have tonight

Baby's head Martin? Had a day trip to Toledo 6 flights of escalators to get to the ancient city. Found a little restaurant for lunch.12 euros for 3 courses & a glass of wine. I had paella then venison & chips. He had a nice soup & pork casserole. All tender and tasty. Went to lots of wine bars instead of dinner as they give you little snacks with your drinks. This morning we wish we hadn't had the last drink!!

Booze cruise was it not , you rum runner ?

Porky light's pork sausages that all and sundry at Slimming world have been raving about. Very good syn wise , meaty with a strong pork flavour , slightly offalish imho. Needed plenty of mustard.

SW style oven baked wedges of potato.

The ubiquitous fresh pineapple.

Hills , you never grace these hallowed pages with the piccies of your gallivanting , do think about us languishing in the British gloom.
