I've clocked up two 25 year stints, you would have thought the first one would have taught me a lesson.

Re: what did you have tonight

Olive and manchego cheese nibbles, oven baked chicken wings with lime and chilli marinade from Aldi, home made Lahmacuns which were/are very tasty and as good as any I've had before, just missing a large EFES or glass of angora, so a slim tonic and lime will suffice.

Re: what did you have tonight

Bought some half price scallops from Morrison's. Cooked them with fresh salmon with chopped onions, garlic and peppers finished off with creme fraiche, lemon zest, a few Turkish chilli flakes and parsley. Served with giant fusilli. Very good.

Re: what did you have tonight

Went to our son's for lunch and we all sat in the garden and had a very nice sort of meat loaf made with chicken breast, eggs, cream cheese and lots of parsley then wrapped in bacon before cooking in the oven. I took up a coffee and walnut cake, which turned out really well. Would recommend the little cook book Be-Ro (the flour people) They've been printing these little books for years and now it's their 41st edition. An excellent book for cooks who haven't much confidence as it's easy to read and the recipes are not complicated or "chefy"

Roast topside , new potato , roast 'arsenips and mixed veg , thick gravy with horseradish .

Fresh pineapple.

Pepsi max.

Had a go at fruit loaf again this week , low sugar and low salt , turned out well in the bread maker .

Re: what did you have tonight

We roasted a very small pork joint and had that with potatoes and carrots from the garden, cauliflower and cabbage from Aldi, stuffing and apple sauce.
Seemed strange not having a wine or 2 or even a beer especially as it was a 4pm football match Sunday but on the upside I've lost a stone now, only about 5 to go !

Well done Martin , the stone is an achievement indeed , resisting a snifter to celebrate a good win over our woeful example was a test indeed.

Steve - I have lost half a stone on 6 weeks of the Jane Plan diet - well pleased. Why not try it yourself? x Angela x

Re: what did you have tonight

In all honesty Angela , losing weight initially is not a problem , I just stop eating... Keeping it going us the problem

I hate salad , fish , veg apart from spuds , adore bread and cheese , not that fond of meat .

Thought I would lose weight when I stopped the booze but no luck .

Good luck with your weight loss Angela , and thanks for the thought.

Re: what did you have tonight

Large M & S chicken roasted. Beetroot, potatoes, carrots, courgettes, garlic, sweet potatoes, red peppers, onions all roasted with olive oil and finished off the pesto. The left over cabbage shredded. Made great gravy with chicken juices, white wine and a vegetable stock pot. Damn delicious !
