Re: what did you have tonight

Chicken quarters cooked in cream and mustard sauce with carrots and courgettes.
Colin had mashed potatoes with his as well. Very nice.
I weighed 8st 13lbs this morning. The low carb, wine diet is working! I did reach the magic 8 on the scales for a few days last year. I’ll try to maintain it this year.

Re: what did you have tonight

Waitrose cod fillets £22.00 per kilo reduced to £7.99. Bought two lovely fillets. Last night had one of them en croute. The fish topped with leeks, cooked then mixed with boursin. Served with saute potatoes, green beans and broad beans. Quite good.

Re: what did you have tonight

After a day in Walton visiting our grand daughter whose 4th birthday it was, we came home and had a large omelette with the left over cod en croute.

Re: what did you have tonight

On Monday we had whiting goujons in lemon, cream and white wine sauce with salad, and potato wedges as well for Colin. The wine was homemade apple wine.
Very nice.
We went on a 3 hour drive to Kemer yesterday for our residency renewal interview which was hardly an interview. We just handed our paperwork to nice young lad on reception and signed a couple of papers.
Getting the car out of the car park wasn’t as easy, as 3 idiot drivers had blocked about 10 cars in. The traffic police took photos of their number plates and did a good job of finding the idiots and everything was soon sorted out.
We had a late lunch on the way back at a restaurant we’ve been to before.
The freebies they give you are enough for a meal. A huge hot flatbread, 4 different dips, cheese, butter, walnuts and a big salad. We both had 4 decent sized lamb chops which came with rice and a bit of salad and Colin had chips. All excellent and very good value at just over £14.

Lovely potatoes from a friends allotment. Roasted them with garlic. Grilled bacon and tomatoes with fried eggs. Very good.

Re: what did you have tonight

Which Walton is that Hils?
My daughter lives near Walton on the Naze in Essex, in Weeley.
Leftovers from the freezer last night. Colin had cottage pie and I had Halloumi curry. I cooked some carrots and leeks to go with it.
Nice, and cleared some space in the freezer.

Re: what did you have tonight

Walton on Thames Kalkanite- he and his family should be in Bangalore now as his work takes him there for two or three years. Can't get over there yet, so probably be here until after Christmas ! M & S rose veal meat balls. Fried, then cooked in one pan with onions, garlic, mushrooms, red pepper skinned and diced, orange peel. Finished with creme fraiche, mange tout and parsley. Served with spaghetti. Very good. Morrisons had fresh mussels on offer, to had some moules mariner for lunch. A nice treat !
