I love my slow cooker

If you haven't used one, i promise you will be a convert.
Now it is getting that bit cooler my mind turns to winter food.
Nothing could be easier that a slow cooker.
5 mins to prep your chosen meat/veg , brown for a couple of mins then pout into the slow cooker.
Result is a lovely meal when you get in later (if oyu have been out!)
I got mine in the uk last year for £12 and i see tesco have them for £10 now on offer. Bargain !!!
They use very little electricity and as there are only 2 of us, a large casserole will do for 2 nights.
YOu can even cook a whole chicken in it and it is so tender and mosit, it just falls apart.
I carried the breakable crockpot bit hand luggage and the lighter metal outer and lid went into the case.
Well worth the effort.........
must go now...........feeling a bit hungry...........

Re: I love my slow cooker

I love my slow cooker too. I bought mine from Morrisons a couple of years ago for about £20 I think, worth every penny. I usually chuck a joint of beef in for a few hours and it just falls to bits, same with chicken. Couldn't be without it now.

Re: I love my slow cooker

I brought mine from UK too, but they are now available in Fethiye shops.

Also good for puddings - e.g. rice pudding, bread pud, stewed fruit.

Re: I love my slow cooker

I have a slow cooker and have had one for over 30 years and yes they are great but I have recently been converted to an electric pressure cooker, so easy especially as now I am so forgetful that I have been known to leave things on the hob boiling away, with the pressure cooker I can set it up to ten hours in advance and after cooking it keeps the food warm. A large chicken 34 minutes leaves it falling apart and as for a stew no problem, chop it up set the timer go out and about and come home with it all cooked, ready to eat and so tender and the taste!!!!

I have a Turkish Crockpot from Metro, a large one, so this morning i throw in loads of veg and half a box of small sausages from Kipa, casserole packet mix and shoved in the oven 150c for 4 hours, went on a 4 mile walk, back just in time before the heavens opened up, nice fresh bread lovely.

Re: I love my slow cooker

I ordered myself a slow cooker online last week.

It's already three days late.
