Bergamot Jam

Has anyone made Bergamot jam before? I am looking for a recipe.

I have the big ugly Turkish bergamots but the bergamots on the internet bear no resemblance to these. I will have a go on my own but it would be nice to have a tried and trusted version.

Re: Bergamot Jam

This is a first for me but very interesting--just made some very easy mandalina marmalade in the microwave --just cut up 3-4 mandalinas and also add some finely cut peel stir in an equal quantity of sugar place in large plastic bowl and zap in the microwave for about 8- 10 mins--stir --place in a dish and put in fridge to set--great if you just want to make a little bit

Re: Bergamot Jam

Can you tell me the power of your microwave please, mine is a 700W. I might give it a try as I have never used the microwave for jam and a small amount sound good

Well, I am calling it a bergamot because that is what my Turkish neighbours call it but I cannot see it on the internet. It is a very large wrinkly fuit like a massive lemon but with wrinkly skin. It has a perfume like smell, I am sure it is a citrus of sorts. I will try and post a photo.

Re: Bergamot Jam

I had googled it myself but as I did explain, the fruit on the internet is different to the bergamot I have. They talk about citrus bergamot and they are small and smooth.

The sunglasses indicate the size of the fruit
