Double cream?

Hi everyone, hope you can help. What do you use for double cream here in Turkey? Planning to make Pavlovas and Cheesecake but Krem Şantı is just not the same. Probably missing somthing obvious in the supermarket. Thanks Mary

Re: Double cream?

Hi Mary

You can find Krem on the aisle where the milk is, Pinar do a nice Krem but it can be a little expensive, it's sold in small and 1 Litre cartons.

Hope this helps.

I found krem in Migros, dont think it was that expensive but it was only a small carton.
I used krem santi on a cake 2 days ago and it was really thin but I put it in the fridge overnight and it went thicker.

Re: Double cream?

Hi,
it is called Krema and it is usually next to the joghurts in the fridge in the supermarkets.
In Carrefour you can buy it cheaper than in Migros.
The cheapest shop to buy it is A101 or SOK, it cost 2 TL for a small 200 ml carton.
Usually I am buying it from SOK but often it is sold out there.

In Migros it won't be in the refrigerated section.

It's more like clotted cream Peter, lovely with scones and Jam or on toast with Honey.

Re: Double cream?

Thanks everyone, got the krema in Şok this afternoon. Peter you'll have to come and visit, I make great scones or İ can pass on the recipe. We have a site barbecue on Saturday and I've been asked to make the desserts. I'm not the site managers favourite person. think she's hoping I'll fall flat on my face:-))
