Try this summer cooler!

Found this delicious recipe online and thought I'd share it with everyone.......

Blend 1lb cucumber with the juice of 4-5 limes, a handful of fresh mint and half a cup of water. Add sugar to taste. Strain through a sieve and serve in a large jug with ice and mint sprigs.....add a splash of white rum or tequila for a kick.

Sounds a bit strange but tastes lovely and goes great with a barbecue......enjoy!

Re: Try this summer cooler!

Haven't found limes in this part of Turkey - could lemons be substituted?

Re: Try this summer cooler!

Sounds lovely what could you add instead of alcohol or could it just served without anything?

Would be nice to have something refreshing instead of plain water.

Re: Try this summer cooler!

Think lemons would be a good substitute, though maybe not so many and it might need a bit more sugar. I haven't actually tried it with alcohol it was just a thought.

Re: Try this summer cooler!

There were limes in Tansas in Calis this week, they usually appear at this time of year but are a bit pricey.

Re: Try this summer cooler!

Think you will find they are green lemons, I believe all limes are imported that's why they are pricey.
