Lemon Cheesecake

I'm not a very good cook but my daughter has plucked up the courage to ask me to make a lemon cheesecake. The last time I made cheesecake I was at school and it was lovely, but I've forgotten what to do, considering it was a very long time ago!

I remember last time I used cottage cheese (I think) but some recepies I've been looking at the internet use no cheese, or mascapone cheese, or greek yogurt - all the recepies seem to be different.

Could someone help me out here and give me a tried and tested recepie for a lemon cheesecake. Thanks

Re: Lemon Cheesecake

Mirazz, try the philadelphia site, loads of delicious cheesecake recipes. I made a raspberry one from their site ages ago and everyone was asking for the recipe.

Re: Lemon Cheesecake

So, is mascapone cheese the same as cream cheese?

Re: Lemon Cheesecake

No, but you can buy Marscapone in Migros and Kipa! Labne is cream cheese.

Re: Lemon Cheesecake

I posted one not so long ago for a Zingy lemon or lime cheesecake, it's in the general recipe forum.
Really easy and turns out well every time.

Re: Lemon Cheesecake

you can buy mascapone cheese in any supermarket, i think it tastes like really thick cream, we always have it on mince pies too

Re: Lemon Cheesecake

You'll find mascapone in tubs with the ricotta usually at the end of the cheese isle.

Hi, I made this cheesecake through the week following Lara's recepie in the General Cooking section. It was divine and went down a treat. I'm not a good cook but nobody could fault it, I'll certainly be making that again. Thank you
