Ground Rice

Can anyone please tell me if Pirinc Unu (rice flour) is the same as ground rice?
If not, can you get ground rice here in Turkey?

I am wanting ground rice for making bakewell tarts as I have nearly used up all my ground almonds which seem unobtainable here.

Re: Ground Rice

Can you not grind whole almonds in a food processor? That's what I do with sugar to make it fine enough for baking.

Re: Ground Rice

I was going to say that we can get ground almonds in Fethiye so they might be available elsewhere in Turkey.

Re: Ground Rice

Thanks for your replies, I guess I will try the rice flour with almond essence.

Putting almonds in a food processor is no good for ground almonds as it doesn't grind the nuts, only chops them into tiny pieces which is no good for what I want.
