Smile Ginger

Other half loves cooking....thank goodness or I would have starved to death by now!!!!.....and is wondering as to whether or not you can get Ginger in Turkey. We have two possible translations for it 1) zencefil or 2) zencefil katmak. We have (he has) spent many happy hours in Turkish shops and markets but cannot recall seeing it at all. So, could someone please say as to whether or not it is available and have we translated it correctly please??? We intend to spend most of our time in Turkey and his culinary delights would not be the same without ginger. Thank you.

Re: Ginger

You can normally find it in Migros supermarkets, It is called Zencifil, keep it in the freezer until you need it. Zencifilli means with ginger (lozenges mentioned earlier). One thing I cannot find in Turkey is lemon grass. Anyone else found any?

We have seen ginger in supermarkets from time to time but not always. Would suggest you take enough out with you, if possible.
